Our Treatment

Musculoskeletal Tumors

Bone and soft tissue tumors are uncommon in children, and fortunately less than 10% of these are malignant. They may present as a mass, as a persistently painful area, or may often he discovered incidentally on x-rays taken to evaluate an injury. Often the history and x-rays are sufficient to reach a diagnosis; sometimes additional scans, blood tests, or even biopsy are necessary, Our doctors have been trained to evaluate bone and soft tissue masses, review any studies that have been done, and decide if additional studies are needed for diagnosis.

We perform biopsies and treatment of benign tumors as outpatient procedures at Children's Hospital, and coordinate care of more serious tumors with the excellent oncology group at CHOC and the musculoskeletal oncology professor at UCI.
